Why become an elementary education school teacher? Being an elementary education school teacher, I would have an opportunity and responsibility of being a role model and also to shape the future for all children. I believe each child is a unique individual that needs a stimulating and caring environment to mature and grow intellectually, emotionally, physically and socially. My philosophy of education is that every child should have the right to learn and receive a quality education along with being able to express themselves freely along with the structured discipline in the classroom. I would support and respect cultural, racial, and religious backgrounds along with valued and encouraged parent involvement.
My teaching philosophies would include: 1) a positive learning environment 2) clear understanding of goals and expectations 3)
provide assessments and evaluations 4) present effective learning materials to all levels of students 5) have an open classroom to encourage parent participation
A positive learning environment is crucial in the learning process and must be implemented in the classroom. The positive learning atmosphere must include all cultural backgrounds. There must be a clear understanding of goals and expectations along with grading criteria. By having goal orientated materials would create a more successful student in and outside the classroom. It is important to have assessments and evaluations periodically to let the student and parent/parents aware of success and deficiencies as an effective measure of learning progress by the student. Materials used in the classroom need to be effective for the students in to order to obtain a positive learning objective. Most importantly, parent involvement is a must to pave the road to success between the student and teacher.
